In 1921, Serbian pilots founded the Serbian Aero Club in Belgrade which today operates as the Aeronautical Union of Serbia. Thanks to its decades-long existence, today there are over 70 active organisations in Serbia which are involved with aeronautical sports and all forms of modern flying:

Paragliding

There are some places which offers a great conditions for this extreme sport: paragliding. Some of them is Mountain Sokolina . Mountain Sokolina 1,225 m in height, Western Serbia, a well known destination for lovers of paragliding. This is one of the best place for paragliding in South Europe. Why? Over the mountain blowing three different winds skillfully used by pilots during flight. Down the river Drina. From the Drina valley raise columns of warm air over which paragliders are floating. This is the best place unmatched in the Balkans.

Ballooning

Flying by a hot air balloon may as well be the most exciting adventure you will ever embark on. It is the oldest mean of aviation that will leave you breathless and that keeps being equally enjoyable even in modern times.

It offers a unique way to experience Serbia from a bit different perspective. A balloon floats with the wind which provides an indescribable sense of peace and silence. It will make you feel as if you actually belong to the skies you’re sailing across.
