Walking, if time allows, is the best way to get to know a country, its people and their customs. Serbia’s centuries-old forests, vast plains, villages, towns and cities and mountain peaks are a real challenge for even for experienced hikers.
Besides recreation, physical satisfaction and enjoying beautiful natural sights and phenomena, you will also have the chance to see many historical monuments.
There are many beautiful mountains, where you can do walking and hiking and enjoy the nature. I will intoduce you to some of them:
Divčibare
In the southwest of Serbia, 38 km from Valjevo are Divčibare. With 980 m above sea level, this mountain rich in forest and water makes the central part of Maljen mountain. Divčibare is surrounded by mountains Povlen and Suvobor, intersected by rivers and streams, canyons and cliffs.On the tree trunks are hiking tags. Sidewalks are light, start from the center of Dibčibare and they are long a couple of kilometers. Use the shoe, the better the deep. The central and lower part of the mountain is quite moist. The hiking trail to Suvobora 866 m, the top of Rajac 848 m.
Fruška gora
Freshness make dense forest and the Danube next to which the Fruska Gora stretches. A dozen monasteries, one spa and several resorts offer the possibility for a break between two walks. At the foot of the mountain on the other side of the Danube is Novi Sad.
Designated trails are easy to walk. Length, undulating terrain and some ups looking for bigger effort. Use shoes always better deep. Walking trails are circular and you can choose from the east and west variant of each track. The trails are customized for beginners and for athletes, from a few kilometers to 81 km, with an altitude difference of 300 to 500 m.
Goč, Stolovi i Željin
Three mountain in central Serbia - Goč, Stolovi and Željin, are a unique tourist destination. This massif located on the right side of the Ibar gorge, south of Kraljevo. provides more opportunities for active spending time outdoors.The trails are easy to move and move from the mountain hut, long from 8 to 27 km, with an altitude difference of 700 to 1785 m. On track to Željin because of the length of 27 km, requires good physical fitness and hiking shoes.
Kopaonik
Kopaonik is the largest mountain range in Serbia and the National Park. It stretches from the northeast to the southeast, a distance of about 80 km, with Pancic peak at 2017m. Snow from November to May, and nearly 200 days of sunshine a year, this mountain is classified into one of the most suitable for all kinds of sports, both on the snow and in the summer.
There are organized different walking tours with a guide. The trails are suitable for walking, and their weight is determined by the length and height difference. For the longer term of 10 to 24 km recommend light hiking boots, sneakers for other routes, better deep.
Rudnik
Mountain Rudnik dominates the Sumadija. Because of its adverse climatic conditions - a lot of sunshine, air movement, high air ionization and unspoiled natural environment - even in 1922 was declared a health resort. There are eight peaks over 1000 meters.
